Transfer Students

The Transfer Center

The Transfer Center is a living unit specifically designed to meet the needs of transfer students. The Transfer Center strives to aid all transfers, both residents and non-residents, in their transition to Cornell. Located in the Class of 1917 Hall on West Campus, our “house” is open to all. The Transfer Center is a great place to meet other transfers, both “alumni” of the house and new residents. The staff runs a broad range of programs to help address transfer student needs—academic, social, and personal. These include study-skills workshops, weekly community builders, movie nights, bus trips, and educational speakers on a variety of topics. The community also gets involved with a community service project each semester, and the intramural teams compete in a variety of sports.

The Transfer Center is here for you to take advantage of its resources and activities. The program’s effectiveness depends on YOUR involvement through student committees and coming to events! Come by and meet the staff anytime. Look for Orientation events that state “For Transfers Only” sponsored by The Transfer Center.
