Moving
In
Residence Halls open at 8:00am. All students moving into a residence hall on North Campus are given a designated move-in time based on their last name to help with traffic flow (you will receive additional information in the mail with important housing information).
Last name beginning with A-G: Move in 11:00am - 2:00pm
Last name beginning with H-O: Move in 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Last name beginning with P-Z: Move in 8:00am - 11:00am
Students and staff volunteers in red shirts will be on hand to help. All students moving into a residence hall on West Campus or into Collegetown can move in anytime between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Please note, any trucks over 14’ long will not be permitted on campus on Friday. Any trucks 14’ or longer will be allowed to drop off their loads on Saturday. However, there will not be volunteers available that day to assist you.
New
Student Registration
8:00am - 6:00pm Bartels Hall
All new students are required to attend New Student Registration. Consider registration your “one-stop shop” for tying up loose ends that may hold up your enrollment. You will receive a packet of information containing vital administrative materials. To make registration fast and easy for you, please complete all forms and requirements (including activating your Network ID and Cornell email address) as soon as possible. You will not be enrolling in courses at this event.

Get
Your Cornell ID Card
New students who submitted photographs and signatures on the required form from Cornell Bound will have their ID cards waiting for them; if not, you will need to have your photo taken at registration.
Get your Custom Profile Sheet
This sheet is your personalized registration to-do list including
services you have signed up for and tasks you still need
to complete.
And

In order to complete your university registration, you need
to make sure all financial obligations are taken care of,
that all health requirements are met, and that all other
requirements on your profile sheet are resolved. Below is
a list of offices that will be on hand to help you if you
should need any assistance in any of these areas. |
University
Offices on Site
Athletics
and Physical Education
Pick up a copy of the Physical Education Program handbook for more
information on courses, policies, and procedures. Students are
required to take Physical Education each term of their first year.
Staff will also be available to answer your questions about the
swim test.
Bursar
and Financial Aid
Staff members will be available to answer any questions. Regular
office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
The Office of the University Bursar is in 260 Day Hall, and the
Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment is in 203 Day Hall.
Cornellcard
Students who submitted their Cornellcard application form from
Cornell Bound will have their charge privileges activated on their
Cornell ID cards. If you have not yet applied for Cornellcard and
wish to do so, you may complete an application at Registration
or at the Office of the Bursar, 260 Day Hall.
Campus
Life Dining and Retail Services
You must have a Cornell ID Card to dine! If you have not signed
up for a meal plan, you may do so at Check-In Registration at Bartels
Hall, at any dining hall, or online at www.dining.cornell.edu (Net ID required). Guest meal tickets may be purchased at the Campus
Services Event, or pay at the door of Dining Halls.
Commuter
and Parking Services: Bus Passes and Parking Permits
If you've ordered a bus pass, parking permit, or bike registration
in advance, it will be mailed to your local address just before
you arrive – it should be your first piece of mail at Cornell.
If not, the Office of Transportation Services will be available
to offer on-campus parking permits, transit passes, and bicycle
registrations. Beginning August 23, these services will be available
from 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM at the Office of Transportation Services,
116 Maple Avenue.
International
Students Check-In
All
international students who did not participate in PREPARE must
check in with the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO)
within 15 days of arriving! You may check in at registration, or
check in at the ISSO, in B50 Caldwell Hall. Please see the International
Students page for more information on documents you must bring.
Gannett: Cornell University Health Services
The University's health services and facilities will be represented
to provide you with information.
Student
Employment
Students planning to work at Cornell are encouraged to stop by
the Student Employment Services table to meet with staff, and pick
up information relevant to student employees. Any student expecting
to work at Cornell can complete the required federal I-9 Employment
Eligibility Verification Form by presenting original documentation
such as a US passport, or a drivers license along with an original
birth certification or social security card. The I-9 form must
be completed before any new employee can start a job at Cornell.
Student
Health Insurance
The student health insurance representative at this station can
provide information about the student insurance plan.

Deadline for Registration is September 15, 2006!
The deadline for completing registration requirements is September 15, 2006. Completion of registration after this date results in a late fee assessment. To complete the registration process, students must:
• Settle all financial accounts: Any bill not paid by August 8 will automatically be assessed a finance charge
• Satisfy New York State health requirements: (see page 3 of the Orientation Guide for more information)
• Complete course enrollment
• Have no holds posted by your College or the Judicial Administrator

Services Event
8:00am - 4:00pm Barton Hall
Come see what else Cornell has to offer! While students are attending registration, families and friends are invited to attend this information extravaganza in nearby Barton Hall. New students will be guided to the event upon completing registration. This is a wonderful opportunity for new Cornell students and their families to learn about the wealth of programs and services offered at the University. Seating and concessions are also available if you need a break on a busy move-in day! |
